Vrijheid Fonds – Month review March 2016

March is history, and lets see what it brought. March is always a good month. It is the last month of the quarter and a lot of companies pay dividend in March.

This is a blog post about my favorite topic, dividends!  I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can.  The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.

In total I received € 412.52 ($ 467.55) in passive income in March. My Vrijheid Fonds had two dividend increase this month! WalMart raised its dividend with 2.0% and Archer-Daniels-Midland with 7.14%. In total my Vrijheid Fonds has had already 6 dividend raises this year.

The bad news is, that I also had 1 dividend decrease. BBL slashed its dividend by 74%. This hurts. Read about this slash in this blog post.

If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:

Royal Dutch Shell A (RDS) € 149.77
Unilever (UN) € 60.84
Aflac (AFL) € 7.38
Acher-Daniels-Midland (ADM) € 9.22
Billiton PLC – ADR (BBL) € 8.47
Chevron (CVX) € 28.89
Johnson&Johnson (JNJ) € 16.87
McDonalds (MCD) € 14.02
Microsoft (MSFT) € 8.64
Realty Income (O) € 7.45
Target (TGT) € 15.12
Mutual Fund € 85.86

That makes a total of € 412.52, this is a 48.8% increase from last years March.

In 2016 I received a total in passive income of € 525.79

If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), we can see it was a good month.

My total portfolio value at the end of March is $66,076, which is an increase of 2.24% over last month (€ 64,630). This increase was mainly due to the new buys I made last year. This is great! DGI at work!

Furthermore I donated € 400 of fresh capital.

Again this month I made a nice step in my journey.
Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Pollie

Note:
Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. And because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.

    Hey Pollie,
Solid dividend income for March, it certainly is a good month from a dividend perspective. We had a record month too. Seems we have about the same amount of shares in both UNA and RDSA, as we had similar dividend incomes for March.
    Keep it up!

A 48% YOY increase is very solid! Your vrijheidsfonds is on a roll!

The major dividend stock I have is RDSA. OS, March as a nice month for me as well. Unilvere is on my waiting list.
