Vrijheid Fonds Update – August 2015

A new month, so it is time to update my Vrijheid Fonds once again. I get to post about my favorite topic, dividends!  I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can.  The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.

Okay lets see how much passive income I have received in August. August turned out to be a fun month. There was a lot of volatility and I took advantage of that. I averaged down my position of Procter& Gamble (see here).

There were, unfortunately, no dividend increases in August for my Vrijheid Fonds.

Lets take a look at the numbers and tell you the status of my Vrijheid Fonds and report my passive income for this month. In total I received € 74.73 ($ 83.80) in passive income.

If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:

AT&T (T) € 21.37
Omega Healthcare Investments (OHI) € 14.17
Procter&Gamble (PG) € 9.04
Realty Income (O) € 7.20
Mutual Fund € 22.94

That makes a total of € 74.73, this is a 133.7% increase from last years August. This big increase is still due to rearranging my portfolio last year. But wow this feels good!

In 2015 I received a total in passive income of € 1070.80

If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), we can see that the value is lower than last month. This is due to Chinese commotion on the market lately. My Vrijheid Fonds held up pretty well. Because of the low beta of many of my stocks, my Vrijheid Fonds tends to oscillate less than mister market.

My total portfolio value at the end of June is $55.193, which is a decrease of 7.17% over last month (€ 59,459). I again donated € 800 of fresh capital to my Vrijheid Fonds.

Again this month I made a nice step in my journey.

Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Pollie

Note:

Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. And because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.

  1. Dividend for Starters

    Hey Pollie,

Our portfolios are showing some similarities.
I’ve received dividends from T, PG & OHI as well. 🙂

Well done on averaging down. I still have to decide what stock to pick for this month.
It will be a difficult choice, as many stocks are screaming “I AM FOR SALE, BUY ME”.

    Best wishes,
    DfS
