This week AT&T (T) announced a 2.1% increase in its quarterly dividend. The dividend is raised from $0.47 to $0.48. The dividend pay date is February 1, 2016 to shareholders of record on January 8, 2016 (ex dividend January 6, 2016).
Randall Stephenson, Chairman and CEO: āOur continued financial strength and outlook for strong cash flows give us the confidence to increase our dividend for the 32nd consecutive yearā.
The new dividend amount represents an annualized dividend amount of $1.92 per share, up from $1.88. The dividend yield on current price is 5.66 %.
My Vrijheid Fonds consist of 60 shares of T, so my annual dividends will increase by $0.60.
My projected annual total amount from my shares of T will be $97.92 after taxes.
While AT&T’s dividend increase is small in size, I think it’s better than no increase! Furthermore, there are clear signs that AT&T’s capacity to grow its dividend is improving. This because they are working on lowering their payout ratio. T is worth having in a long-term portfolio. And Iām a proud (part) owner of AT&T.
Cheers,
Pollie
I agree! I will take the penny increase too. Go Big T!
