Today (July 15) I bought 15 shares of CVX at $95.54 per share (incl. fees). For more information and my analysis on CVX just read my analysis. With this purchase I average down my position on CVX.
With this buy, I added a little bit more than € 16 (after taxes) of dividend to my Vrijheid Fonds for this year. The projected dividend income for 2016 for CVX is € 131.
Again a small step in my journey. And one step closer to my goal.
Has anyone else invested in this company recently? Any feedback is greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Pollie
Great purchase, Pollie. I have been looking at CVX and thinkign about averaging down myself.

15 shares is only adding €16 after taxes?! It seems your taxes are really high! CVX pays $4.28 annually
The €16 is only this year (just two more quarterly payments in 2015)
In 2016 at least €32 in dividend after taxes. In The Netherlands dividend taxes are 15%
Cheers,
Pollie
Thanks, CVX is can this moment be bought for a nice price with some great yield!
Nice buy. The oil majors are looking very attractive at the moment for the long-term. I am not surprised you looked to average down on Chevron.
Good luck with it!
Thanks DD,
yes the oil majors are on sale!
And I just couldn’t resist to averaging down.
Cheers,
Pollie
Great buy here with big oil officially ‘on sale’. I’d like to add to my position in XOM as well as CVX.
Hello Captain Dividend,
The oil majors are on sale!
And I just couldn’t resist to averaging down.
Do you have a trigger price when to buy these great stocks?
Cheers,
Pollie
No not at all, once I get enough money in my account I just try and buy a stock which is attractive to me. I do like to keep my dividend income fairly balanced month to month though. I’ve been buying a ton of stocks in the last month of the quarter lately so I may try and find something which pays in the other two months.
Nice grab. Wonder how long the ‘sale’ will last!
I read a dutch article yesterday which stated that the oil prices will be down till 2020. This due to the contract with Iran.
But your guess is as good as mine.
Cheers,
Pollie
I wouldn’t mind that so much 🙂
Me neither 😃
Nice Buy Pollie. Way to add another 16 euros to your forward dividends. There seems to be a few opportunities out there to average down on some long term holds at attractive prices: CVX is certainly one of them. Our family also purchase additional share in CVX to lower our cost basis recently.
Best wishes and continued success on your journey! AFFJ
Hey Pollie,
Great buy. I have been wondering the pull the trigger as well.
My initial purchase was at $107, so it’s down 14.5% now.
On the other hand, there are a lot of other nice looking stocks to buy.
Guess I don’t have enough free capital!
BTW, I recently messaged you at Twitter about contacting you, but I can’t send you a DM, because you don’t follow me. Please follow Bulawark at Twitter or send me an email at dividendforstarters@gmail.com. Thanks!
Best wishes,
DfS
Hello DfS,
Thnaks for stopping by.
I agree that a lot of stocks are on sale now.
I feel like a kid in a candystore 😀
Only if I had some free fresh capital!
Cheers,
Pollie
P.s. I follow you on twitter now!
Definitely will be looking to average down. Made a huge mistake buying so high back in January
Nice buy, we’re looking to average down our cost basis for CVX as well, just need more cash. 🙂
CVX is still going down. So a lot of opportunities to average down. This is what a DGI wants who is still accumulating stocks.
Welcome in the candy store. 😁
