Month review August 2016 – Polliesdividend

Another month has passed and it is time to write a post. A post about my favorite topic, dividends!  I hope this post inspires other people out there to start saving and investing as soon as they can.  The power you feel knowing that you are richer than you were yesterday and you didn’t have to work a minute for it, is a wonderful feeling.

Okay lets see how much passive income I have received in July. And what kind a month it was for my Vrijheid Fonds. I had just one dividend increase. Realty Income raised its dividend with 0.30%. It is small, but very welcome!

Polliesdividend.com Month review

Lets take a look at the numbers and tell you the status of my Vrijheid Fonds and report my passive income for this month. In total I received € 587.68 ($ 656.92) in passive income.

If we take a closer look, the dividend was coming from:

Coca Cola (KO) € 21.29
General Electric (GE) € 10.49
Realty Income (O) € 7.59
Vereit (VER) € 10.46
Ahold (AH.AS) € 537.85 (Super Dividend)

YoY Increase

That makes a total of € 587.68, this is a 1422% increase from last years July. This big YoY increase is due to the super dividend I received from Ahold. Removing that from the equation, I earned € 38.61 last year vs. the € 49.83 this year, a 29.1% growth from last year, which is incredible. I feels great when money is coming in that has worked for me!

In 2016 I received a total in passive income of € 1,896.36

This month I made one purchase. After receiving my paycheck on the 25th of July I bought additional shares from my mutual fund (Kempen European High Dividend).

With this purchases I added € 1 of dividend for 2016.

Vrijheid Fonds

If we take a look at my Vrijheid Fonds (Freedom Fund), we can see that the value is higher than last month.

My total portfolio value at the end of July is $73.154, which is a increase of 1.48% over last month (€ 72,090). I again donated € 400 of fresh capital to my Vrijheid Fonds and € 100 for my mutual Fund for my “Safe-haven-sleep-well” part of my Vrijheid Fonds.

This month I reached a milestone, on 22nd of July my Vrijheid Fonds reached for the first time € 75.000. I wrote about it here (milestone).

And for some further information about my super dividend from Ahold, see my blog post about the merger Ahold Delhaize.

Again this month I made a nice step in my journey.
Thanks for reading!

Because all figures I give are in Euro’s. And because the exchange rates is not constant (duh…) my passive income changes per month (even if the dividend stays the same). For the record: I only post my passive income from dividend the month I received it on my brokers account. And it is after taxes.

      Hello Tristan,

      Thanks for stopping by.
The super dividend was from Ahold. This because the had a merger with the Belgium Delhaize, and the formed Royal Ahold Delhaize.

      Hello Stefan,

I agree, it was a very nice feeling!
Ahold paid me three super dividends in the last 10 years. I hope they will keep doing this!

The super dividend is indeed nice! Something to remember when I enter one of their shops.
It actually reminds me I should own some of the Belgian retailers…

Like everyone else has noticed… that Ahold (AH.AS) € 537.85 SUPER dividend is always a welcome treat. Like last year when Heinz bought Kraft special dividends were paid out. Keep up the good work and enjoy collecting those dividends. Thanks for sharing.

WOAH, WOAH. I had to do a double take here. Great month Pollie and congrats on receiving that awesome special dividend. I am assuming it is an all cash dividend and if so, were you able to put it to good use in the market?? I love that you still received a 29% bump after removing the one-time special dividend from the equation. Great stuff!

      Hello Bert,

      We all love super dividends!
It was all cash, and I will reinvest it when i reach about €1,400 in my cash account.
