Dividend Increase McDonalds (MCD)

This week McDonalds (MCD) announced a 5.6% increase in its quarterly dividend. The dividend is raised from $0.89 to $0.94. The dividend pay date is December 15, 2016 to shareholders of record on December 1, 2016 (ex dividend November 29, 2016).

McDonald’s President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Easterbrook said:

I’m encouraged by the meaningful progress we’ve made against our turnaround plan and energized by the opportunities that lie ahead. Today’s dividend increase reflects the strength and stability of our cash flow and our continued focus on driving long-term value for all stakeholders.

McDonald’s has raised its dividend each and every year since paying its first dividend in 1976.

The new dividend amount represents an annualized dividend amount of $3.76 per share, up from $3.56. The dividend yield on current price is 3.26 %.

My Vrijheid Fonds consist of 21 shares of MCD, my annual dividends will increase by $3.57 (after taxes). For 2016 my dividends will increase by $ 0.89 after taxes.

My projected annual total amount from my shares of MCD will be $67.11 after taxes.

    Everyone’s lovin’ the MCD raise. As I commented elsewhere, it wasn’t that long ago when MCD was written off for dead and the stock was trading in the $80s. It was all about CMG, PNRA and other fast casual restaurants. MCD has proven, over and over that it can adapt to changing consumer tastes. Thanks for sharing.
