Expected Dividend Increases in July 2019

Expected Dividend Increases in July 2019 for my Vrijheid Fonds.

If you have visited Polliesdividend more often, you know that I track the dividend increases of the companies in my Vrijheid Fonds. There have been quite a few dividend increases announced so far in 2019 for my Vrijheid Fonds. The counter is now on 19 announcements already!!  It definitely has been a fun time to be a dividend growth investor. In this post I try to summarize as many companies that are expected to announce a dividend increase in the coming month.

Why you ask? I find it fun to track the dividend increases because I like companies that regularly increase their dividend. I believe that companies can only increase their dividends regularly if they grow earnings sufficiently. And it is the most outward sign by management as to how business is going. These companies show confidence in the potential growth of future earnings. And that are the kind of companies I like in my Vrijheid Fonds.

Last month

But before I take a look at the month of July, just let us first look back if the companies of the previous month’s article did what I expected.

Target (TGT)

On June 13th TGT announced a 3.1% increase of their quarterly dividend rate, from $0.64 per share to $0.66 per share. For more information about this increase see my post about this Dividend increase of Target.

This increase is slightly lower than last year’s increase, and I must admit it was a little bit disappointing. And it was on the lower side of my prediction. The decline in its annual dividend growth is unfortunately going on.

  2019 2018 2017 2016 DGR-10yrs
TGT 3.1% 3.2% 3.3% 7.1% 16.7%

Realty Income (O)

I love this kind of companies! Realty Income still raises its dividend like clockwork. On June 11th Realty Income announced a 0.2% increase of their monthly dividend rate, from $0.226 per share to $0.2265 per share. For more information about this increase see my post about this dividend increase of Realty Income Juni 2019. This increase is in line with their increase of last years June and I was spot on with my prediction.

  2019 June 2018 June 2017 June 2016 June DGR-10yrs
O 0.2% 0.2% 0.2% 0.3% 4.4%

These were my dividend increase for the month of June. These two nice increases are responsible that my annual dividend will increase with a total of €2.28. My Vrijheid Fonds is working for me and gives me some extra money, and this just by doing nothing!

Next month

Here are my predictions for the dividend increases I expect in July.

Well I can be very short about this. I don’t expect any dividend increases for my Vrijheid Fonds in the month July of 2019. The only surprise that is slightly possible, is that OHI will restart to raise its dividend again. But I have to be honest, this is more hope than reality (unfortunately).

Finally

I’m excited how my predictions will turn out. Man I was right with all my prediciton 😉 . I made some extra money, just by doing nothing. This is what passive income is all about!

And if we take a look at the month of July, I don’t expect any announcements of dividend increase for the companies of my Vrijheid Fonds. Lets hope that I will receive some increases in August!

Which dividend increase are you expecting?

I like to hear from you.

Cheers,

Pollie
